General information on Thermoplastic Coating
Thermoplastic Coatings are an alternative to traditional Thermosetting Polyester/Epoxy Powder Coatings for components where improved corrosion, durability & impact resistance is required.
We can provide advice on the various colours that are available and help with coating samples & prototypes.
Thermoplastic Coating provides a very tough and durable finish that is ideal for situations where long term corrosion free coatings are required.
Advantages of Thermoplastic Coatings

2) Superior resistance to corrosion in Marine & Seaside situations.
3) Resistant to Chlorine atmospheres in situations such as swimming pools. Ductwork and associated parts for swimming pool environments. (Interior or Exterior)
4) Very good all-round resistance to chemicals.
5) High Ultraviolet light resistance with outstanding colour retention.
6) High Dielectric Resistance.
7) Approved for use on parts used in the drinking water & food industry.
8) Low Release of Smoke in fire situations, will not add to the spread of flame with low toxicity and fumes in fire situations.
9) Good Abrasion resistance with superior coverage of welded areas and the edges of components.
10) Thermoplastic Coatings pass the Building Regulations Part M Warm to Touch making it very suitable for Handrails and other parts that must feel Warm to Touch when used.
11) Approvals for use with Drinking Water/Sewer Pipes & associated fittings. Above or underground.
12) Good Green credentials, Thermoplastic Coatings contain no chemicals that are harmful to the environment.

Street Furniture such as Benches, Tables, Playground Equipment & Litter Receptacles.
Lamp Posts and Lighting (H3)
Thermoplastic Coatings have much improved durability and resistance to impact and abrasion when compared to normal thermosetting powder coating. Ideal for lamp posts & other external lighting components.
Fencing Panels and Outdoor Components
Low long-term maintenance means lower lifetime costs. Outstanding colour resistance that passes the Florida Test (5 Years at 45 degrees centigrade) Used for fencing panels and associated parts, especially suitable for harsh conditions where maintenance would be costly and time consuming.
Electronic Components
Busbars and other High Voltage parts. Very Good Dielectric strength. Passes ASTM D-119.
Auto Parts
Vehicle parts where durability, flexibility & long-term corrosion resistance is needed. Good resistance to stone chips, cracking and flaking. Passes SAE J400. With enhanced salt spray resistance when compared to Thermosetting Powder Coatings.
Metal Structures
Metal structures, Signs, Fascia’s and other parts in public facing situations where graffiti removal is needed. Easy removal of graffiti can be achieved without degradation of the coating.
Water Pipes and Fittings
Approved for use on Pipework Valves & Fittings for the Water Industry. Passes WIS 4-52-01.
Handrails and Warm to Touch Components
Handrails, Grab Handles and other parts that must feel Warm to Touch when used. Passes the Building Regulations Document M standard.
